1. Mrs. Whatsit

In her attic bedroom Margaret Murray, wrapped in an old patchwork quilt, sat on the foot of her bed and watched the trees tossing in the frenzied lashing of the wind. Behind the trees clouds scudded frantically across the sky. Every few moments the moon ripped through them, creating wraith-like shadows that raced along the ground.

What is she to do, Margaret Murray lifts her self off her bed and heads to her dresser where she picks up a large, what looks like a diamond surrounded by mud. She slowly dusts it off with her hand and the diamond begins to shine. To her surprise Margaret Murray is turned into a large mouse mindless and uncontrollable.

Still conscious margaret murray is apporached by a cat large and fat. With all her might she feared and gained control of her bodily functions. Margaret Murray afraid and scared notices a mouse hole and races for it. Avoiding the mouse traps margaret murray makes it safety. She tries to take off the diamond still glowing on her hip. Slamming herself into the wall hard, biting her hip, Everything!

Her thought to herself is that, “My life is over.” Thats all that rings out through miss Margaret Murrays mind. Looking for some kind of miracle she sees what looks like a light and summonded right before her eyes is a tiny black beetle. “Excuse me?” The little beetle questions, And says to her you are in the tiny version bug form, if thou seeks to regain ones true form before the clock strikes 12 you must make haste.

Shocked at the tiny bug, Margaret Murray takes every word serious and is given a map of her own house. One she does not even recognize. Shes worried now and figures whatas the point. The bug explains these are the trials of test for you see you picked up a stone that was not meant to be there but somehow was there. With thats the beetle vanishes and Margaret sets out on her journey across her house. X marks the spot.

To the right, then to the left, all the way to mountain sink. Where the sacrifice of torch must be appealed. Margaret read on and began her journey across her home, which says on the map Houses of Rights. She thinks that it means that shes rich to the tiny foke. Margaret comes across a mirron as she travels through the mouse hole maze, and looks at her the form, so startled by her appearance she runs as fast as she could away from her own face.

Margaret hungry and have already travelled half way to moutain sink sees a trap with some cheese layed out on it. With her mouse insticts, whats a mouse to do? Margaret scavenges around for something to take the cheeses place and snaps the trap with a stick she finds on the ground. After she finishes her meal, full with food she continues her journey.

Finally mountain sink. With the map, she made it assuringly. She hurries to climb the counter to get to the mountain sink and rinse off the diamond. At least thats what she thought was supposed to be done. She throws the map on the ground not knowing that she needed it for the sacrifice. “The Torch!” Margaret runs and climbs and makes it to the top of the counter. And sqeeks out of joy. The beetle comes out and says, “you made it congratulations. Now if you can present the map so we can get you back into your true form.” Margaret thinks to herself and remembers she threw it on the ground.

The fat large cat walks in and walks to her bowl of water and kibble and starts to eat. Magaret appauled by her stupidity. squeaks a large failure squeak. the beetle stands their with laughter comming out of his mouth. Ten more minutes on the clock. What will Margaret Murray do?

Margaret sees a thread from a towel dangling runs towards it with only five minutes left. Margaret ties it around her tiny body she takes the position of a runner, bolts forwards and lashes in a swinging motion towards the ground. The large fat cat notices and jumps towards her. Margaret pushes with all her might against the wind resistance and swipes the map off the ground. the cat misses Margaret as he tries to launch a strike slash with his claws. Margaret rocks her body so hard that she forces a jump to the thread and makes it saftly back to the top of the counter. “Victory!” She says.

With one second Margaret Murray throws the map into the sink and the diamond flys to the sink magically and Margaret is set free. The bug unable to communicate with the human, turns into nothing more than a bug to margaret again. Margaret jumps up and screams “Im alive.” takes one last look at the diamond as it melts into a pudde. The moral of the story is that you should alwasy be cautious of what you pick up. It may have magical potential.
